Ikon’s Working Dog Background

Ikon has a fabulous temperament, very high drive, wants to work all day, but is happy to turn it off and relax at home. 

He is a black and mahogany, smaller sized, extremely athletic male. He is approximately 23” and 55 pounds. He is a very naturally handler interactive dog; social and stable - nonaggressive to both people and all animals. He is highly social with people and dog neutral. He is a very kind, cheerful, and biddable dog with a joyful and optimistic outlook on life. He is not possessive or noise sensitive. He has extremely high ball drive and high food drive. He is very clear headed. One thing that makes him so special is that even though he has such high prey drive, he is not remotely triggered by or predatory to moving animals. No overstimulation around dogs running, critters, cats, birds, etc. He has NO over arousal issues at all (A fun story is us working on Utility scent articles next to a field of dogs doing protection training. Ikon is an IPO3 and loves to bite, but he wasn’t distracted at all and had no issues concentrating on his scent articles and playing with me). He is very trustworthy, easy to handle, and cooperative in all situations.

He had very high natural handler focus out of the box, and is not environmental. He is always ready and willing to work, all day everyday. Working and playing are his favorite things. He also loves interaction with his handler. On the flip side, he has a very clear off switch, and is happy to lay around and snuggle. He is very affectionate and calm - not at all a busy dog. His favorite activities are obedience, biting, swimming, and snuggling! Ikon has been very sound and healthy. He does not stress easily. He has an excellent stomach/digestive system, no allergies, and is a very good traveler. OFA Good Hips (taken at 6 years old!) and Normal Elbows. 2 clear CERF eye tests, and Embark clear.
