Uzi’s Working Dog Background

 Uzi is an outstanding combination of having a social temperament with a strong serious side.

He is a long and lean male, approximately 25” tall and 64 pounds. He is extremely fast and athletic, with a very long stride. He is a beautiful mover and a naturally gifted jumper. Uzi was very social with people as a younger dog, but in maturity that has lessened. He is now mostly neutral, but doesn't enjoy strangers touching him. He is social to neutral with known dogs. He is also vigilant and aware of changes in his environment. However, he has a very happy and outgoing personality with a huge sense of humor, and he constantly makes us laugh! He is extremely affectionate with his people. He is very flashy in his obedience, and very biddable. He is possessive but cooperative. He is an extremely physical dog with high prey drive, but much higher in fight drive, and he has a lot of aggression in his bite work. He is serious in his bite work, with strong and forward responses to suspicious training situations. He has full grips and extremely fast strikes and long bites. He has high food drive and is also a phenomenal tracker with a consistent pace and deep nose.

Uzi is thoughtful and clear headed - and in fact can over think! -  but interestingly, can be prone to over arousal in certain social situations. He travels well and does not stress easily. He is not noise sensitive and doesn’t care about different sur faces. He is a “busy” dog who needs a job, but has developed a nice off switch over time. He has been sound and healthy. He does have what appear to be mild seasonal allergies, and in the spring and summer is given Cytopoint shots that work extremely well. Uzi has OFA Excellent Hips and Normal Elbows, and he is Embark clear.
